I fell off the wagon... and my will power is all kinds of bruised from the spill. I was doing pretty well with the whole "look at me, I don't eat refined sugars," but it was only a matter of time before the sweet goodness of sugar got the best of me.
It started innocently enough. It was Sunday afternoon, Husband was on his way home from a boys weekend away, and I thought, how cute would I be if I had a tasty treat made for him when he got home? Immediately, I scoured my pantry and came up with all of the necessary ingredients for these little goodies.
Then it happened. "well I better make sure they taste okay." (This line can also be interchanged with "let me make sure it's not poisonous"). Of course I couldn't stop with one little taste. When that sticky cake batter deliciousness touched my lips, it was all over. Luckily, I was able to regain some of my composure, and leave one for Husband's home-coming... notice I said one. Someone needs to spend some time with Tracy Anderson this week.
(I like my rice krispy treats extra gooey so that's what the recipe reflects.)
Super-Duper Cake Batter Rice Krispy Treats
5 cups of rice krispies
3 tbls butter
4 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
1 cup yellow cake batter
1 package melting chocolates
Melt butter and marshmallows in a pan. Add in dry cake batter and mix together. Pour over rice krispies and spread into a 9x13 pan that has been coated with non-stick spray. After they cool, cut into squares and dip into the melted chocolate. Garnish with sprinkles.
